GETTING STARTED

First Time Setup:
1. Language Selection
When you first open the app, you'll be prompted to select your preferred language:
- English
- Sinhala (සිංහල)
- Tamil (தமிழ்)
Your choice will be saved and you can change it anytime from the language menu.
2. Navigating the Calendar
- Use the left/right arrows to move between months
- Swipe left/right to quickly switch months
- The current month is displayed at the top
3. Understanding the Calendar
- Red highlighted dates: Poya Days
- Orange highlighted dates: Public Holidays
- Gray highlighted dates: Weekends
- Small note icon: Dates with your personal notes

FEATURES GUIDE

Adding Notes to Dates:
1. Tap on any date in the calendar
2. Tap the "+ Add Note" button
3. Enter your note text (up to 500 characters)
4. Optional: Toggle "Set Reminder" to enable notifications
5. If reminder is enabled, select date and time for notification
6. Tap "Save Note"
Your note is now saved and will appear with a note icon on that date.

Editing Notes:
1. Tap on a date that has a note (look for the note icon)
2. Tap on the note you want to edit
3. Make your changes
4. Tap "Save Note"

Deleting Notes:
1. Tap on a date that has a note
2. Tap the trash/delete icon next to the note
3. Confirm deletion

Setting Reminders:
1. When adding or editing a note, toggle "Set Reminder" ON
2. Tap "Select Time" to choose when you want to be notified
3. Choose the date and time for your reminder
4. Save the note
You will receive a notification at the scheduled time.

Viewing All Holidays:
1. Tap the list icon (☰) in the top right corner of the main screen
2. Browse all 2026 holidays organized by month
3. Tap on any holiday to see more details
4. Tap the back button to return to the calendar

Changing Language:
1. Tap the language icon (🌐) in the top right corner
2. Select your preferred language:
- English
- සිංහල (Sinhala)
- தமிழ் (Tamil)
3. The entire app will instantly switch to your selected language

TROUBLESHOOTING

Notifications Not Working:
Problem: I'm not receiving reminder notifications
Solutions:
1. Check that you've granted notification permissions:
- iOS: Settings > Notifications > Sri Lanka Calendar 2026 > Allow Notifications
2. Make sure your device is not in Do Not Disturb mode
3. Verify the reminder time hasn't already passed
4. Check that the reminder toggle is ON when creating the note
5. Try deleting and re-creating the reminder

App Language Not Changing:
Problem: Language doesn't change when I select it
Solutions:
1. Tap the language icon (🌐) in the top right
2. Select your desired language
3. If the issue persists, try closing and reopening the app
4. As a last resort, reinstall the app (note: this will delete your notes)

Calendar Not Displaying Correctly:
Problem: Calendar looks broken or dates are missing
Solutions:
1. Close and reopen the app

1. Make sure you tap "Save Note" after entering your text

A: No. Notes are stored locally on each device and do not sync. If you use the app on multiple devices, you'll need to create notes separately on each device.
Q: Can I export my notes?
A: Currently, the app does not have an export feature. Your notes are stored on your device and can be backed up through your device's regular backup system (iCloud, iTunes).
Q: Are the holidays accurate?
A: Yes! All holidays are verified against official Sri Lankan government holiday declarations for 2026.
Q: Can I add holidays from other countries?
A: This app is specifically designed for Sri Lankan holidays. You can use the notes feature to add your own important dates.
Q: Is this app free?
A: Yes! The app is completely free to download and use. We display advertisements to support development.
Q: Can I remove ads?
A: Currently, there is no ad-free version available. We use ads to keep the app free for everyone.
Q: Does this app work on iPad?
