FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ)
Q: How do I create a WiFi QR code?
A: Simply open the app, enter your WiFi network name (SSID), password, select the security type (WPA/WPA2/WPA3, WEP, or No Password), and tap "Generate QR Code". Your QR code will appear instantly.
Q: How do I use the "Use Current" button?
A: The "Use Current" button automatically fills in your currently connected WiFi network name. You'll need to grant location permission for this feature to work (this is an iOS requirement to access WiFi information). After tapping the button, you only need to enter the password.
Q: Why does the app need location permission?
A: Location permission is required by iOS to access WiFi network names through the NetworkInfo API. We do NOT access or collect your actual location data. This permission is only used to retrieve the name of your connected WiFi network when you tap "Use Current".
Q: Can I customize the QR code colors?
A: Yes! Tap the "Customize" button next to "Generate QR Code" to choose from 8 foreground colors and 5 background colors. You can preview your customization before applying it.
Q: How do I save a QR code to my photos?
A: After generating a QR code, tap the "Save" button below the QR code. The app will request photo library permission (if not already granted), and then save the QR code to your Photos app.
Q: How do I share a QR code?
A: Tap the "Share" button below any generated QR code. You can then share it via Messages, Email, AirDrop, or any other sharing method supported by your device.
Q: Where can I find my previously generated QR codes?
A: Switch to the "History" tab at the bottom of the screen. Your last 20 generated QR codes are automatically saved there. Tap any entry to view the QR code again.
Q: Can I edit a QR code from history?
A: Yes! In the History tab, tap on any QR code entry to view it, then tap the "Edit" button to load those details back into the generator where you can modify them.
Q: Does the QR code work with all devices?
A: Yes! WiFi QR codes follow a standard format that works with most modern smartphones, including iPhone, Android, and many other devices with QR scanning capability.
Q: What security types are supported?
A: The app supports WPA/WPA2/WPA3 (most common), WEP (older networks), and No Password (open networks).
Q: Can I create QR codes for hidden networks?
A: Yes! Enable the "Hidden Network" toggle before generating your QR code.
Q: Is my WiFi password safe?
A: Absolutely! All WiFi information you enter stays on your device. QR codes are generated locally, and no data is ever transmitted to any server. Your WiFi credentials are never collected, stored remotely, or shared.
Q: Why do I see advertisements?
A: WiFi QR Generator is free to use and supported by ads. This allows us to keep the app free for everyone while continuing to improve and maintain it.
Q: How do I remove a QR code from history?
A: In the History tab, swipe left on any entry and tap the delete button.
Q: The QR code is too small to scan. Can I make it bigger?
A: After saving the QR code to your Photos app, you can zoom in or display it full screen for easier scanning.
Q: Does this work offline?
A: Yes! All QR code generation happens on your device, so you can create QR codes without an internet connection. However, ads require an internet connection to load.

TROUBLESHOOTING
Problem: "Use Current" button doesn't work
Solution:
1. Make sure you're connected to a WiFi network
2. Check that location permission is granted (Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → WiFi QR Generator → While Using the App)
3. Try toggling WiFi off and on
4. Restart the app
Problem: Can't save QR code to photos
Solution:
1. Check photo library permission (Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos → WiFi QR Generator → Add Photos Only)
2. Make sure you have enough storage space on your device
3. Try restarting the app
Problem: QR code won't scan
Solution:
1. Make sure the QR code is displayed clearly and not too small
2. Ensure good lighting when scanning
3. Try regenerating the QR code
4. Verify you entered the WiFi details correctly
Problem: App crashes or freezes
Solution:
1. Force close the app and reopen it
2. Restart your device
3. Make sure you have the latest version of the app
4. If the problem persists, contact support
Problem: History is empty
Solution:
1. Generate at least one QR code first
2. Check that you haven't cleared the app's data
3. History stores up to 20 entries; older ones are automatically removed
Problem: Customization colors not saving
Solution:
1. Make sure to tap "Done" after selecting colors
