How do I add a birthday?

Tap the + Add Birthday button on the home screen. Enter the person's name, select their birth date, choose a relationship type, and optionally add a note. Tap Save when done.

Can I add a birthday without knowing the birth year?

Yes! When adding a birthday, toggle on "Year Unknown". The app will still track the date and remind you each year — it just won't calculate an age.

How do I edit or delete a birthday?

1. Edit: Tap on a birthday card to open the detail screen, then tap the edit icon in the top-right corner.
2. Delete: Swipe a birthday card to the left on the home screen, or tap the delete button inside the detail screen.

How do reminders work?

When you save a birthday, BirthdayApp automatically schedules a local notification for that person's next birthday. The reminder repeats every year automatically — you only set it once.

I'm not receiving notifications. What should I check?

1. Go to Settings → Notifications → BirthdayApp and make sure notifications are allowed.
2. Ensure Do Not Disturb / Focus Mode is not blocking the app.
3. Try deleting and re-adding the birthday to reschedule the notification.
4. Restart your device and check again.

Currently, notifications fire at the default reminder time set during scheduling. A custom notification time option is planned for a future update.

What does the "Next 30 Days" section show?

The home screen only shows birthdays that are coming up within the next 30 days in the "Upcoming" section. Birthdays further away will appear in the calendar view, so your home screen stays focused and relevant.

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how Aivora Lab ("we", "us", or "our") handles information in connection with the BirthdayApp mobile application ("App") available on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

By using BirthdayApp, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the App.

2. Information We Collect

We do not collect any personal information. BirthdayApp does not require you to create an account, sign in, or provide any information to us.

📱 All data you enter — names, birth dates, notes, and preferences — is stored exclusively on your device using your device's local storage. This data is never transmitted to any server or shared with any third party.

The App does not collect or access:

• Your name, email address, or contact information
• Your device's contacts or address book
• Your location
• Camera, microphone, or media library
• Any analytics or usage data
• Crash reports or diagnostics sent to our servers

3. Local Data Storage

BirthdayApp stores birthday records you create directly on your device using standard platform storage (iOS: UserDefaults / Android: SharedPreferences). This data is:

• Only accessible by the App on your device
• Not backed up to our servers (though it may be included in your device's own iCloud or Google Drive backups, subject to your device settings)
• Permanently deleted when you uninstall the App

4. Local Notifications

BirthdayApp uses local notifications to remind you of upcoming birthdays. These notifications are:

• Scheduled entirely on your device — no data leaves your device to generate them
• Not connected to any push notification service or external server
• Controlled by you via your device's notification settings

You can revoke notification permissions at any time in your device's Settings → Notifications → BirthdayApp.

5. Third-Party Services

BirthdayApp does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, crash-reporting, or tracking SDKs. We do not use:

• Google Analytics / Firebase Analytics
• Facebook SDK / Meta Pixel
• Crashlytics, Sentry, or similar crash-reporting tools
• Any advertising networks

6. Children's Privacy

BirthdayApp is rated 4+ and is suitable for all ages. The App does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. Since no data is collected at all, the App is compliant with COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act) and similar regulations.

7. Data Security

Because your data never leaves your device, the primary security of your birthday data depends on your device's own security measures (passcode, Face ID, Touch ID, etc.). We encourage you to use a secure device lock.

8. Your Rights

Since we do not collect any personal data, there is no data held by us to access, correct, export, or delete. All data you enter in the App can be deleted by you at any time within the App, or by uninstalling the App.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected with a new "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.

10. Governing Law

This Privacy Policy is governed by the applicable laws of the jurisdiction in which Aivora Lab operates. By using the App, you consent to the terms set forth in this policy.
