How do I change the language of the explanation? Open Settings and change "Explain in". This controls the language used for the explanation output.
What does "Word language" mean? "Word language" is the language of the word or phrase you type or speak (the input term). Choosing the correct word language can improve accuracy. You can also set it to Auto-detect.
Voice input is not working
Make sure microphone permission is allowed for the App.
Make sure speech recognition permission is allowed for the App.
Try selecting a specific "Word language" that matches what you are speaking.
If you are offline, voice input may not work.
The explanation language did not change
Confirm Settings > "Explain in" is set to your desired language.
Try a new word. If you requested the same word again, you might be viewing a previously saved result from your history.
You can delete local history from Settings and try again.
How do I delete my data? The App stores history and favorites on your device.
To delete them:
Open Settings
Use "Delete History" and "Delete Favorites"
You can also uninstall the App to remove locally stored data from that device.
The App helps explain words and expressions using an AI-generated response.
Your entered text is sent to a backend service to generate an explanation.
Search history, favorites, and settings are stored on your device.
Voice input is optional and requires microphone and speech recognition permissions.
Information you provide
Text you enter When you type or paste a word or expression, the App sends that text (and your selected language settings) to the backend so it can generate an explanation.
Do not enter sensitive personal information (for example, passwords, financial information, government IDs, or health information).
Voice input If you choose to use voice input, the App requests access to:
Microphone
Speech recognition
The App converts your speech to text and uses the recognized text as the word/expression to explain.
The App does not intentionally store raw audio recordings.
Information stored on your device
The App stores the following locally (on-device):
Search history
Favorites
Settings (selected languages, strict format, kid-safe mode, onboarding completion, font size)
This data stays on your device unless you choose to share it externally.
Information processed by service providers
To provide explanations, the App uses:
Firebase (Google) The App uses Firebase services for anonymous authentication and calling a backend function. As part of providing these services, Firebase may process technical information (for example, request metadata, IP address, and diagnostic logs).
AI processing The App uses a server-side AI provider to generate the explanation text. The word/expression you submit and the requested output language are sent to the AI provider for processing.
We do not sell your personal information.
How we use information

Generate explanations
Provide app features like history, favorites, and settings
Improve reliability and prevent abuse (for example, basic backend logging and rate limiting)
Data retention
On-device data (history, favorites, settings) remains on your device until you delete it or uninstall the App.
Backend services may retain limited logs for operational and security purposes.

Uninstall the App to remove locally stored data
Children’s privacy
The App is designed to explain words in simple language. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

International users
Your information may be processed by our service providers in countries other than your own, depending on their infrastructure.
